Early morning fire on Hobart Road in Southold

Southold FD was dispatched at 03:00 Hrs. on June 10, 2021 to combat a fully engulfed storage building fire in close proximity to dwellings and the SeaTow boat docks on Hobart Rd. The storage facility and garage were engulfed and destroyed by the fire and a shed was also damaged. The two adjacent houses were saved from damage and no docked vessels were damaged as a result of the fire.

Both SFD fire houses, HQ on the Main Rd. and the Main Bayview Sub-station responded. Fire Chief Peggy Killian was in command assisted by First Assistant Chief Ty Cochran and Second Assistant Chief David Surozenski.

SFD Rescue Squad members were on hand to provide firefighter rehab and stand-by in case of injuries. No injuries were reported, civilian or firefighter.

The fire was declared out by 05:00, overhaul and clean-up ended at 06:00.
