On September 8, 2015 Suffolk REMSCO/REMAC presented their highest honor, the Gold Medal Community CPR Award, to Southold Fire Department's AHA Training Center for training 1,638 person in CPR. On hand to receive the award from REMSCO Chair Jane McCormack were Chief James Rich, Captain Chris Manfredi and Captain Brian Mahony. The award recognizes the hard work performed by all the CPR instructors affiliated with the AHA Training Center and provides a continuing incentive to train many more members of the community in the year to come. Following a highly successful program at Southold School, plans are underway to train students at Mattituck, Greenport and Shelter Island. Congratulations to Chris, Brian and their team for a job well done and a reminder to all that they are always looking for more instructors to assist with CPR training.
