Southold FD Engine and Truck Operations training sessions were held on Monday, August 24, 2020, led by Second Assistant Chief David Surozenski and Training Officer J.R. Rumpler. Company officers and chief drivers assisted them.
Ladder and bucket operations, hose handling, hydrant hook-ups, engine pump operations and heavy rescue truck and tool operations skills were discussed, performed and debriefed. The importance of training situations and constant practice cannot be over-emphasized and is an on-going process at SFD. Safety is everyone’s concern. EMT's were on-hand to monitor weather related health concerns and provide First Aid for possible injuries.
Protection Company Secretary/EMT Karen Byrnes and Firefighter/EMT Michele Wilinski were the photographers.
