Friday morning, SFD was dispatched to a Signal 14 on C.R. 48, west of Peconic Lane. Responding units found a 1966 Corvette in the center median having suffered an engine fire caused by a perforated fuel line leading to an aftermarket fuel filter. Thanks to fast action by responders, damaage was limited to the engine compartment and the car will live to drive another day. Chiefs Rich and Goldsmith in command.
