At approximately 1100 hours on August 24, 2010, SFD was dispatched to a Signal 16/23 MVA on Peconic Lane. On scene, it appeared that a northbound car had run into the rear of a parked Southold Town street sweeper that was in the process of filling its water tank from a hydrant in front of the Town Recreation Center. The driver of the car self extricated, was treated at the scene by members of Southold Rescue and transported to Eastern Long Island Hospital. The entire operation was under the command of Chief Killian.
