Car vs. Pole (Big Pole)

On the morning of April 17th, SFD was dispatched to a Signal 16/24 MVA on Route 48 in the vicinity of Tuckers Lane. Responding units found a single car headed West that had come in contact with one of LIPA's largest poles and had broken same in two spots leaving a major portion of the pole hanging from the high tension transmission lines. The male driver and sole occupant of the car had self-extricated and was transported to ELIH for observation.
