| On July 23, Thursday evening, SFD participated in a multi-vehicle MVA with fire and extrication operation at the North Fork Sanitation property in Cutchogue. The training was overseen by instructors from the suffolk County Fire Academy. The drill was handled as a real-time scenario with responders called to the scene by the SFD Dispatcher. Firefighters and EMS personnel responded and worked together to douse the fire, identify priority patients and begin the extrication and evacuation drill. A post-training feed followed the drill at SFD headquarters which by all accounts was a rousing success. |
