At 0359 on Wednesday, June 4, Southold Fire Department was activated for a mutual aid response to assist the Riverhead Fire Department with a major structure fire at the Crown Recycling facility on Youngs Avenue. During SFD's time on scene our tanker moved over 75,000 gallons of water from hydrants on Osborne Avenue to the fire site. SFD returned to quarters at approximately 1030.
