Southold's Bravest, assisted by Southold's Finest, made quick work of a leaf fire on North Bayview Road. Responding units were under the command of Chief Damianos, with Chief Surozenski, Captains Boyd and Boyle, and numerous firefighters in attendance. No injuries were reported with the exception of a carved owl statue that suffered charring to its left wing. The owl was returned to its upright position and was left on scene.
