On October 10th Ex-Chief Bill Witzke ran another fantastic training day for the younger school children on Fire Prevention Day. We had a great turnout of volunteers from SFD to help out. This is an annual event which was highlighted this year by the nearly life size house used to bring fire prevention skills to life. The house has graphics representing kitchens with stoves and utensils, a smoke (blow-up) filled room to have the children crawl under and other living areas they will be familiar with in their own homes. After the household demonstration the kids enjoyed a puppet show designed to reinforce safety skills for tots. The Stop, Drop and Roll song was a particular hit!
