Members from Cutchogue, Greenport and Southold Fire Departments practiced water rescue techniques on Sunday May 21, 2023. The session began with a briefing with an 'overboard kayaker in distress' as the scenario. The rescue teams took turns practicing skills required to safely retrieve a man overboard, including launching crafts, donning protective suits for frigid temps and safely retrieving a man overboard back on board and to shore.
