On the afternoon of Sunday, September 15, several members of the Southold Fire Department took unit 8-4-1 to Pindar Vineyards to hoist Old Glory as a tribute to those lost on 9/11 and to honor those who rode bicycles from Freedom Tower in Manhattan to Peconic as part of the 9th Memorial FDNY 343 Ride. The riders left NYC around 0730 for their 105 mile trip trip to the North Fork and arrived at 1645, somewhat tired but proud of their accomplishments. Photographs by David, Bill and Ed.
