At 0600 on 9/11/19 members of the Southold Fire Department hoisted the Stars and Stripes in front of Headquarters to commemorate the many sacrifices of September 11, 2001. This year's flag raising was additionally recorded by an aviation asset adeptly controlled by Captain Geehreng.

Later in the day a service was conducted at the Firefighters' Memorial in Peconic under the sponsorship of the Southold Town Fire Chiefs' Council.
