| At 1526 hours on Wednesday, February 23, Southold Fire Department was dispatched to a Signal 16/23, car vs. pole, on Route 25. Arriving units found the 23 year old female driver already being tended to by EMTs from the Greenport Fire Department who were passing by. Southold Rescue personnel immobilized the victim, extricated her from the vehicle and transported her to Eastern Long Island Hospital for treatment of her injuries. The victim reported she had been wearing her seat belt and harness at the time of the collision which also resulted in full air bag deployment. |
