Sunday George Berry Sr. received SCFA highest award The Firefighter of the Year for his heroic efforts in trying to save his neighbor who was trapped in her house while it was on fire. Georges family was present at the ceremony as was many members of the department. Southold Fire Department is proud to have this years award winner and the efforts George put forth to try to save his neighbors life at the risk of his own.
