At 0600 hours, members of the Southold Fire Department participated in the annual raising of the 9/11 Memorial Flag in front of Headquarters. Despite a slight drizzle, the task went more smoothly than usual with only minimal discussion concerning the proper direction for the Flag's field relative to the building. As always, the Flag will remain in position throughout the day and will be lowered following the service at the Firefighters' Memorial in Peconic that will be held this evening at 1800 hours.
