At 1648 hours on Saturday, March 7, Southold Fire Department was dispatched for a Signal 13 on the Main Road just east of Town Harbor Lane. Arriving units observed residents exiting the structure due to a contents fire in an upstairs rear bedroom which fire was promptly extinguished allowing overhaul to be accomplished. No injuries were reported among occupants or firefighters despite low temperatures and extremely slippery ground conditions. Following established procedure for a "working 13," Greenport and Cutchogue Fire Departments responded to provide mutual aid support. Operations were conducted under the command of Chief Killian with the assistance of Chiefs Rich and Goldsmith.
