On Sunday, May 6th, under the watchful eye of Chief Byrnes, several members of the Southold Fire Department attacked two vehicles which had been parked at Station Two awaiting their turn to be cut apart. Thanks to the efforts of VanGorden, Standish and Hanold on the previous afternoon, the white van had been turned on its side and wedged against the black coupe creating a very realistic accident scene. Practice was had with the Hurst Tool (Jaws of Life), O-Ring Cutter, glass saw and the little used but still important air chisel. Valuable lessons were learned by all in a futile effort to save the dummies which had died of boredom during the night spent in the cars.
