Our heartfelt congratulations go out to Lauren Uribe, the North Fork Volunteer Fireman's Association Firefighter of the year for 2018. Although this news item is a bit delayed, (this contributors fault entirely), the Southold Fire Department remains extremely proud of Lauren and her accomplishments. Specifically, her quick thinking and rescue actions saved the life of a fellow senior volunteer during a meeting dinner at the East Marion Fire Department.

The Proclamation from the Town Board of the Town of Southold proudly hails Lauren her for "...commitment to health and safety, her quick thinking under pressure and her selfless concern for others...".

Commissioner Thomas Grattan and Chief Ty Cochran were part of the ceremony and presentation.

Lauren is an extremely valuable member and asset to the Southold Fire Department and our community. Please join us in congratulation her when you meet.
