2206 hours on Thursday, September 12, Southold Fire Department was dispatched for a Signal 13/35 on Horton's Lane. Arriving units found a filly involved front porch with fire communicating to the house exterior and the front room immediately adjacent to the porch. First units did an excellent job of getting fast water on the fire and saving the structure with damage confined to the porch, vinyl siding, and the front room. Southold FD was assisted by Cutchogue FD and Greenport FD. Scene operations were directed by 8-4-30 and 8-4-32. No injuries were reported and all units returned to quarters shortly after midnight.

After action photographs taken on the morning of September 12 showing areas of overhaul. degrees of charring, relatively limited damage to structure and intact asbestos shingles underneath vinyl siding. Amazingly high percentage of property saved is credited to rapid application of water by first arriving units.
