On Thursday, March 29th, the Southold Fire Department was again asked to participate in the funeral of T/Sgt. Dashan Briggs, a member of the 106th Rescue Wing, killed in the line of duty while protecting us overseas. Southold Fire Deparment, in conjunction with the Riverhead Fire Department, raised its largest flag on the grounds of Riverhead High School creating a memorial arch through which the funeral procession passed on its way to Calverton National Cemetery on a route designed to allow the Riverhead students to pay homage to a graduate of their school.
